A high level meeting has been recently held between ACA (Algerian Competency Association) and MESRS (Minstère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique) on October 5th, 2008.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Boudjelal, Pr. Mostefa Khiati, Mr. Abdelhak kada, Dr. Abdelwahab Aitouche representing ACA and by Prof. Hafid Aourag and his team from MESRS.

Pr. Hafid Aourag provided a detailed plan of the new directorship for the new scientific research organisation. Dr. Mohamed Boudjelal, and Abdelwahab Aitouche presented the concept of the Council-Councils as a mechanism to set up research committees.

The discussion resulted in agreeing that ACA-MESRS will enter into formal partnership in the following areas:

• MESRS to have access to ACA expert network
• Co-organization of workshops and conferences
• Co-organization of intensive courses and Summer Universities

In the short term, MESRS will co-organize with ACA and FOREM a conference on the role of education and R&D.

A joint committee will be setup to work on the partnership agreement.

The ACA team presented the list of network members who responded to the ACA’s DZ- Research call.
